Welcome to Gothaer Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH
From complex tubular and plate fabrications in high-strength, fine-grained steels such as are used in cranes, to a diverse range of metalworking processes, GFT GmbH offers a wide spectrum of services.
At the centre of all our activities is welding. With some 200 technical staff and modern welding equipment, we are ideally equipped to take on the largest tasks and challenges – as well as smaller projects. We naturally offer all the welding-related services of a modern metalworking business, from prefabrication and surface treatment in our wet paint shop through to assembly and fitting. This makes us useful to a wide range of client groups, and accordingly, we produce system sub-assemblies with the same level of quality as we provide in our cutting activities as a ‘contractor’.

Jobs and Training at GFT
The lifeblood of GFT is its motivated, trained and highly skilled employees. For this reason, we have run an educational facility for many years together with a course centre for welding skills, where trainees learn on the job from the welding seam onwards.
We offer training in the following professions:
- Construction mechanic (welding technology)
- Cutting mechanic (milling machine systems)
- Industrial technician (production engineering)
- Machine and systems operator (metals technology)
Gothaer Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH is also always interested in skilled specialists in these fields. You are of course also welcome to submit an application on your own initiative.

Certification
The work we do for our customers is completed to a high standard. We also wish to document this high level of quality for others to verify, and so we have our activities monitored and certified by an external certification body. We are certified according to the following standards and directives:
- Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001: certification of the application of this standard for vehicle component manufacture and steelwork
- Certification according to DIN EN ISO 3834-2: certification of fulfilment of the welding quality requirements set out by this standard for fabrication of mobile crane and vehicle components in steel; steelwork.
- Certification according to DIN EN 1090-2 through to EXC3: welding certificate for electric welding, tMAG/vMAG, TIG and arc stud welding
